PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to improve safety by maintaining the short state of a fuse member by a blocking member when a short circuit is generated due to overcurrent. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery(10) comprises an electrode assembly(10) which includes a positive electrode(11) and a negative electrode(12); a case(40) with the electrode assembly; a terminal(21,22) electrically connected to the electrodes; a current collecting member(41,42) which is fixed to the electrode assembly; and a connection member(70) which electrically connects the electrode assembly and the terminal. The connection member comprises a fixed plate fixed to the terminal and a connecting plate which is separated from the fixed plate and attached to the terminal, and a fuse part which has a smaller surface area than surrounding parts and is formed between the fixed plate and the connecting plate.
