<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a coated article with excellent corrosion resistance which is most suitable for a molded component of plastic, rubber or the like by applying a hard film thereto, and such a coated article. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a coated article with excellent corrosion resistance which has a hard film applied onto a base material surface of the article by physical vapor deposition, the hard film includes at least two layers of a first hard film applied to the base material surface and a second hard film applied just thereon. The base material surface is subjected to nitriding treatment, and the surface of the first hard film is polished, prior to application of the second hard film, so as to have an arithmetic average roughness Ra of 0.05 μm or less and a maximum height Rz of 1.00 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
