<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector assembly capable of efficiently dissipating heat. <P>SOLUTION: A connector assembly 1 includes an optical cable 3 and a connector module 5. The optical cable 3 has a coated optical fiber 7, an outer coating 9 provided around the coated optical fiber 7, and a metal braid 13 which is provided between the coated optical fiber 7 and the outer coating 9 and has high thermal conductivity. The connector module 5 has a housing 20 for demarcating a storage space S, and a circuit board 24 which is stored in the storage space S of the housing 20 and has a light receiving/emitting element 52 to which the coated optical fiber 7 is connected mounted thereon.
