[Also in Division A1] An implement for cutting grass, hedges and the like comprises two discs 1, 2 pivoted together by a pin 5 and having teeth 3, 4, the discs being secured to handles 6, 7 which are movable towards and away from each other to rotate the discs relative to each other to effect cutting. Alternatively, disc 1 may be provided with a handle on which is slidable a control sleeve coupled by link members to disc 2, so that movement of the control sleeve along the handle causes rotation of disc 2 relative to disc 1. In a further embodiment, disc 2 is rotated by means of a motor mounted on a base plate carried by disc 1, a connecting rod pivoted to disc 2 at a point spaced from its axis being connected to the output shaft of the motor. |
