[Also in Division G2] A spirit duplicating master comprising a support coated with image areas comprising a wax and a colourless bis-(p-dialkylaminoaryl) methane derivative, which forms a dye in acid conditions, is mounted on a drum of a conventional spirit duplicating machine and a number of copy sheets imaged therewith as either the duplicating fluid or the copy sheet contains the necessary acid (lactic or benzoic acid is preferred) to form the dye. Alternatively, the copy sheet may be coated with an acidic material such as bentonite, kaolin, felspar or attapulgite or may contain sufficient alum to produce the dye image. |
