<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition for glass, which maintains scratching prevention function even if it is subjected to a hot water treatment or high temperature steam treatment, reduces the contamination of a transfer line caused by ablation or dropping-out, is adaptable to an ultra-high speed filling line, and imparts stable labeling and easy peelability to a surface of glass, and to provide a glass product coated with the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous coating composition is obtained by incorporating a resin (A) and a resin (B) into water in a dispersed state in the presence of a base. The resin (A) is polyethylene wax having a softening point of 110°C or higher, and the resin (B) is at least one of an α-olefin/maleic acid anhydride copolymer and a partial reaction product of the copolymer.
