PURPOSE: A high efficiency long life cold cathode fluorescent lamp is provided to prevent oxidation of an electrode by getting impure residual gas inside a glass tube and to extend lifetime by preventing melanism of the glass tube due to sputtering of the electrode. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent layer is formed in the inner wall of a glass tube. A cold cathode electrode(1a) is arranged on both ends of the glass tube to face each other. A tungsten coil(3a) is arranged to a longitudinal direction of the glass tube from a molybdenum bead. A lead line(9) is connected to an external power supply. A high voltage is alternately applied to the cold cathode electrode arranged on the both ends of the glass tube. An electron is emitted from the cold cathode electrode. |
