<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable transmission of a state of abnormality generated in a rectifier module to another rectifier module, so as to enable prompt protection operation. <P>SOLUTION: An AC output from each terminal of coils 2u-2z in a generator 1 is rectified by rectifier modules 3u-3z, to charge a battery 8. The rectifier modules 3u-3z perform charging operation by a voltage drop, produced by on-resistance, lower than the voltage drop of diodes 5a, 5b by electric conduction in a reverse direction at the on-states of two MOSFET 4a, 4b. With the internal provision of a circuit to detect abnormal conditions such as overheat and overvoltage, a control device controls the MOSFET 4a, 4b to perform protection operation on detection of abnormality, and also allows other rectifier modules to perform protection operation by transmitting diagnostic signals to the other rectifier modules.
