PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to use AC power without a separate rectifier circuit and to exclude a rectifier circuit for rectifying the AC power. CONSTITUTION: A first light emitting structure(120) is formed on a conductive substrate(142). The first light emitting structure includes a first semiconductor layer(122), a second semiconductor layer(126), and a first active layer(124). A second light emitting structure(130) is formed on the first light emitting structure. The second light emitting structure includes a third semiconductor layer(132), a fourth semiconductor layer(136), and a second active layer(134). A first electrode(144) is electrically connected to the second and third semiconductor layers. A second electrode(146) is electrically connected to the fourth semiconductor layer.
