<p>The device has activating and driving cogwheels mounted on an axle of a bicycle, and cases, each being open in an outer surface so that a pedal is provided with a rack to slide forward and backward. The pedal is actuated to allow a user to move the rack to rotate one of the activating cogwheels and one of the driving cogwheels. A drive chain passes around the driving cogwheel to rotate a main rear wheel. A ratchet mechanism allows the axle to rotate freely when the cogwheels are not rotated or the activating cogwheel rotates in direction opposite to that of movement of the bicycle.</p> |
