<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a utility pole support which can be installed without reference to an environment around a utility pole or ground surface properties, which facilitates installation work and which can stably support the utility pole, and a utility pole supporting method. <P>SOLUTION: A utility pole support supports a utility pole 50 erected from a ground surface G. The utility pole support includes a plurality of main support rods 1 which are radially elongated diagonally downward from a predetermined height position of the utility pole 50 and which have rigidity, and a plurality of subsidiary support rods 2 which are radially elongated diagonally upward from a lower end of the utility pole 50 and which have rigidity.
