<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a preceding vehicle follow travel device to control more the deterioration of fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether a speed of a forward vehicle of a preceding vehicle is smaller than the speed of the preceding vehicle by a prescribed value or more based on the speed of the preceding vehicle and speed information of the forward vehicle of the preceding vehicle located forward of the preceding vehicle in the traveling direction on the same road of the preceding vehicle obtained by vehicle-to-vehicle communications. When determination is affirmative, and the speed of the own vehicle is equal to or less than the speed of the preceding vehicle, acceleration is controlled by interrupting the preceding vehicle following control and maintaining the speed of the own vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
