<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for paper coating that includes much calcium carbonate as pigment and is excellent in water retention property and strength. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for paper coating contains: a copolymer latex that contains a copolymer including 20-80 mass% of a structural unit (A) derived from an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer, 4-10 mass% of a structural unit (B) derived from an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, and 5-76 mass% of a structural unit (C) derived from another copolymerizable monomer (where, the total of (A), (B) and (C) is 100 mass%), and has a number-average particle diameter of 30-80 nm measured by transmission electron microscope and a viscosity of 50-400 mPa s at a solid content of 48 mass%; and a pigment containing 60 mass% or more of calcium carbonate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
