The system has a distance sensor (2) i.e. ultrasonic sensor, a sensor (3) i.e. optical sensor, and an evaluation unit (4) for detecting objects fixedly arranged at a vehicle (1) by using data determined by the sensor, where evaluation of data of the distance sensor is modified based on the data of the sensor. The distance sensor is arranged in a bumper of the vehicle and connected with the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit has a storage unit (5) for storing images. The sensor is arranged in an area of a luggage compartment lid of the vehicle.
