The present invention relates to a garbage can and to a method for manufacturing same, wherein the garbage can compresses garbage by using solar energy converted into electrical energy, uses a compressing apparatus constituted of a pair of screws to compress garbage, and can transmit a garbage collection signal to a remote control center when the garbage can becomes filled with garbage. To this end, when garbage, which is piled to a certain height or above in an inner container of the garbage can, is sensed through a height sensing device, a controller drives a driving source, a pair of screws connected to the power of the driving source according to the driving of the driving source descends, and a compressing plate installed on the bottom end of the pair of screws presses and compresses the garbage. |
