<p>Preparing formamide compound (Ia) and/or formate compound (Ib) comprises homogeneous-catalyst conversion of a reaction mixture comprising carbon dioxide, hydrogen and an amine compound (II) in the presence of an iridium catalyst, at least one bivalent phosphine ligand, in a hydrogenation reactor (I), to obtain a hydrogenation mixture containing (Ia), (Ib), iridium catalyst and/or optionally unreacted (II). Preparing formamide compound of formula (H-C(=O)-N(R1)(R2)) (Ia) and/or formate compound of formula ((H-C(=O)-O ->)(N +>H 2R1R2)) (Ib) comprises homogeneous-catalyst conversion of a reaction mixture comprising carbon dioxide, hydrogen and an amine compound of formula (NHR1R2) (II) in the presence of an iridium catalyst, at least one bivalent phosphine ligand, in a hydrogenation reactor (I), to obtain a hydrogenation mixture containing (Ia), (Ib), iridium catalyst and/or optionally unreacted (II). Either R1, R2 : 1-16C-alkyl, 5-8C-cycloalkyl, 5-8C-heterocyclyl, 5-10C-aryl, 5-10C-heteroaryl (all unsubstituted or monosubstituted by 1-10C-alkyl, 5-8C-cycloalkyl or 5-10C-aryl) or H; or R1R2N : 5-7 membered ring optionally further comprising one or more heteroatoms of O, S or N, where N contains the substituent R1b; and R1b : H or 1-6C-alkyl.</p> |
