<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold contacts and a shell integrally with a resin to take a waterproof countermeasure. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electric connector 1 that comprises: contacts 40 having long portions that can contact mating contacts on a fitting direction when being fitted to a mating connector; a cylindrical shell 20 in which a through hole containing the long portions can be formed; and an insulating body 60 molded integrally with the contacts and the shell, the method comprising the steps of: inserting the long portions into the through hole from one side of the through hole; inserting a first metal mold into the through hole of the shell from the one side of the through hole, and inserting a second metal mold into the through hole of the shell from the other side of the through hole to position the long portions in the inside of the shell by the first metal mold and the second metal mold; and flowing a resin into the first mold and the second mold to collectively mold the contacts and the shell integrally with the insulating body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
