<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that can accurately sense a person near an indoor unit. <P>SOLUTION: An air conditioner 1 includes a first sensor 43a, a second sensor 43b, and a control part 4. The first sensor 43a and the second sensor 43b are attached to the front surface of an indoor unit 2 of a wall-mounted type. The first sensor 43a senses presence of a person in a first sensing region R1. The second sensor 43b senses presence of a person in a second sensing region R2. The second sensing region R2 is further away from the indoor unit 2 than the first sensing region R1 is. The control part 4 controls operation according to presence of a person sensed by the first sensor 43a and the second sensor 43b.
