One embodiment of a thin, flat texture skin for attachment to the blade of a trowel and of the type having at one edge a slot (3) which communicates with a gripping aperture (4). The opening has a notch (5) to allow handle support attached to inserted blade to pass beyond the edge of the tool. The corners (6) of the bottom (8) and edges (9) are rounded and tapered toward the top (7). The bottom (8) and edges (9) are imparted a texture transferable to surfaces.
