PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device is provided to minimize a Moire phenomenon when overlapped with a patterned retarder by making the black matrices of a liquid crystal panel to have different widths from each other within a display area and thus lowering regularity and increasing the repetition cycle. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(110) includes an array substrate(115), a color filter substrate(120), a liquid crystal layer interposed between these two substrates, a first and a second polarizing plate(125,130) attached on the outside of each substrate, and a BLU(Back Light Unit) arranged in the outside of the first polarizing plate. A retarder(140) is formed by regularly placing a left-eye retarder pattern(141a) and a right-eye retarder pattern(141b). A bar shaped black stripe(143) having a fixed width is formed in order to prevent the mixing of an left-eye image and a right-eye image in a boundary line between the left-eye retarder pattern and a right-eye retarder pattern. A black matrix(121) is included in a color filter substrate(120) and includes an interrupter(121a) screening an area between pixel areas(P); and an opening part(121b) exposing the pixel areas. The interrupter is formed to cover a common protrusion part(113) in case the pixel area has the common protrusion part of a second common pattern(117b).
