This motor control device comprises: a mode setting unit for setting a mode to either a first mode in which the charge/discharge current of a secondary cell varies according to the load fluctuation of a motor, and a second mode in which the charge/discharge current of the secondary cell becomes constant for a predetermined time without regard to the load fluctuation of the motor; and a drive signal generator for generating a drive signal for driving the motor on the basis of the mode set by the mode setting unit, a torque command value, and the motor speed.
