摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate boundary coordinates of a contour image from input image data having a predetermined contour image at a higher speed in comparison with a prior art. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device detects contour boundary point coordinates of an image having a predetermined contour image by using a tangent value table for storing a plurality of angles and a tangent value corresponding to each of the plurality of angles. In a main scanning direction, the image processing device detects contour boundary point coordinates of each pixel of which a data value is not less than a predetermined threshold value while inputting the data value of each pixel of the image having the contour image into a data memory. In a sub-scanning direction, the image processing device calculates the tangent value of each contour boundary on the basis of predetermined central coordinates in conformity with the detected contour boundary point coordinates and stores the calculated tangent value in a parallel processing memory. The image processing device compares the tangent value of each contour boundary point in the parallel processing memory and the tangent value obtained from the tangent value table by parallel processing on the basis of an assigned angle and, when individual tangent values coincide with each other, determines the contour boundary point coordinates of an angle corresponding to the tangent value coinciding therewith as the contour boundary point coordinates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
