<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of stopping an unnecessary apparatus and omitting unnecessary voltage application to save power and capable of finishing in a short time a resistance adjustment mode by accelerating and carrying out the resistance adjustment mode without degradation of a photoconductor drum 1. <P>SOLUTION: A controlling unit 12 measures a resistance value of a charging roller 2 by each 5000 pieces of image formation and carries out a resistance adjustment mode. In the resistance adjustment mode, a transfer power source S1 passes current through a metal roller 7 in a direction reverse to the image formation, to the charging roller 2 separated from a photoconductor drum 1 by a separation mechanism 8. The metal roller 7 is composed of a roller member of a conductive material.
