PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulator of an electric motor, in which wire can be wound around a core back portion by a normal nozzle winding machine or a flyer winding machine. SOLUTION: An insulator 90 includes: an external flange 11 which is arranged on a yoke portion of a stator core of an electric motor, and of which inner peripheral surface 15 is formed in a circular arc shape with the center of rotation of the electric motor as the center of curvature; an inner flange 12 arranged on a magnetic pole piece of the stator core; a trunk 13 connecting the external flange 11 and the inner flange 12 with each other and arranged in an iron core section of the stator core. One winding groove 16 positioning a winding 20 to be wound on the iron core section is provided on the outer surface of the trunk 13 closer to the external flange 11 than the inner flange 12.
