A browser and a method for browsing web page are provided. The browser includes: a thumbnail presenting module, for presenting hawk-eye window of the web page being viewed currently on a screen of a mobile terminal, wherein the position in the hawk-eye window has a mapping relationship with the position in the web page being viewed currently; a first interface module, for receiving positioning operation on the hawk-eye window by a user; a browsing content acquiring module, for acquiring the content of the local area corresponding to the position in the web page being viewed currently according to the positioning operation and the mapping relationship between the position in hawk-eye window and the position in the web page being viewed; and a browsing content displaying module, for magnifying the content of the local area on the screen of the mobile terminal. The invention makes web page browsing in a mobile terminal quick and convenient.
