<PICT:1122901/C1/1> To remove a hollow glass body 1 from a tubular support 2 after forming an aperture 6 in the closed end 3; a jet of gas from a nozzle 9 is played down the aperture and pushes the body off the support. The end 5 is pressed by the gas against a resilient support 10 in the nozzle 9, as the nozzle 9 is moved backwards, to prevent sagging when the body 1 is long. A modified nozzle is disclosed in which an opposing force is set up by allowing part of the jet to blow on the outside of the closed end, the arrangement being such that this force prevents the end 5 from actually contacting the nozzle. The body is a glass syringe barrel. |
