PURPOSE:To manufacture a transfer member having enhanced sticking transfer properties and giving a transferred image with superior resolving power and clearness by preparing a stickly layer of silicone resin or silicone rubber on a support so that the surface roughness is adjusted to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A sticky layer of silicone resin or silicone rubber is prepared on the support such as metal and the fabric of glass or polyamide fiber, on a member 5 such as a belt for transferring a toner image 10 on an electrophotographic receptor 4 so that the average surface roughness is adjusted to 0.5-300mum. For example, a soln. of silicone resin is mixed with metallic powder, silica balloons or glass beads having 0.5-300mum average particle size, applied, and dried, or a sticky layer is formed and rubbed to the prescribed roughness by means of a grinder or the like. Thus, the toner 10 is efficiently transferred from the receptor 4 onto a transfer sheet 8 through the member 5. No toner remains in the recesses of the member 5 to prevent the formation of a deficient image. |
