[Also in Group VIII] A spindle, Fig. 5, has fixed thereto a lever 43 and also a lever 42 engageable with an arm 75 of a forked lever 74 the other arm 73 of which is linked to a lever 71 so as to form a toggle joint, the lever 71 being connected to a lever 58 operable by a cam 49 and having mounted thereon a pawl 60 engageable with a ratchetwheel 63 fixed to a shaft 64 to which a sprocketwheel 61 is also fixed. Also fixed to the shaft 64 is a star-wheel 65, which after each stepwise movement of the sprocket-wheel, is engageable by a roller 66 on a pivotally-mounted lever 67. After each such movement of the sprocketwheel, a tongue 81, Fig. 6, on a lever 82 operable by a cam 87 engages a ratchet-wheel 80 fixed to the shaft 64. |
