<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a braking force more than a braking force that can be generated by a booster braking device while miniaturizing the brake booster. <P>SOLUTION: The drive of a pump is started when a required braking force exceeds a pump-up permitting braking force by-wheel brake means, which generates a braking hydraulic pressure by the pump when the required braking force that increases a brake operation amount is increased.
