摘要 <p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical transmission module that can optically couple an optical element and a polymer optical waveguide with each other at high efficiency and high accuracy. An optical transmission module (2) is provided with: an optical element section (53) having an optical element (541) and an electric element (542) formed on the surface (544S) side of a first base material (544); and an optical transmission section (54) having a polymer optical waveguide (56) formed on the surface (51S) side of a second base material (51). The optical element (541) and the electric element (542) are mounted on the first base material (544) such that the surface (544S) of the first base material and the surface (51S) of the second base material face each other, and that the optical element (541) and the polymer optical waveguide (56) face each other, and the optical element section (53) is mounted on the optical transmission section (54) using a solder ball (546). On the polymer optical waveguide (56), a protruding section (547), which specifies an interval distance between the first base material (544) and the second base material (51), is formed, said protruding section being in contact with the surface (544S) of the first base material.</p>
