The system has a metering element i.e. metering valve (40), for reducing agent i.e. ammonia, and two sub-branches (34, 36) through which exhaust gas is guided. The metering element is integrated into one of the sub-branches. An outlet for exhaust gas recirculation is integrated into the other sub-branch. A particulate filter (44) is integrated into the sub-branches, where the particulate filter of the latter sub-branch comprises a catalytic coating. A regulating device i.e. control valve (38), controls effluent stream flowing across the two sub-branches. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an exhaust system. |
