The invention relates to a damping wire 1 for vibration damping rotor blade stages 4 of turbo machines. The damping wire 1 is distinguished in that it is constructed as a coaxial wire having an inner wire 2 and at least one sleeve 3 at least partially surrounding the inner wire 2. The invention also relates to a rotor blade stage 4 having such a damping wire and to a method for producing such a rotor blade stage.
