In order to remove bad-breath and prevent fillings from blackening it is primarily necessary to remove VSCs. Therefore, it is necessary to adsorb the VSCs generated in the mouth, in other words, a liquid-phase material having high VSCs adsorbing properties is required. A hydrotalcite represented by the composition Mg1-xAlx(OH)2An- x/n・nH2O (An-: anion) is heat treated at 500°C, and particles which have changed a layered structure from the state immediately following synthesis are in a liquid phase and have extremely high VSCs adsorbing properties, thus can be effective in removing bad-breath.
