<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound type target which reduces the radioactivation of members which is caused by protons, a neutron generation method which uses the compound type target, and a neutron generator which uses the compound type target. <P>SOLUTION: A compound type target 8 has a target 3, having a form of a composite body formed by overlapping a beryllium material ( or lithium material) 1 with a crystal orientation carbon material 2, and a cooling mechanism 6, having refrigerant passages 5 on a side surface of the target 3 and in the target 3, as ancillary components. As the refrigerant passages 5, not only liquid refrigerant passages but also gas refrigerant passages may be provided. A vacuum seal 4 for sealing a surface of the crystal orientation carbon material 2 positioned at the atmosphere side is provided in the target 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
