The casting core is located within the shell, and includes a sidewall extending between a first core surface and a second core surface. The casting pin includes an intermediate segment connected between a first support segment and a second support segment. The intermediate segment contacts the sidewall. The first support segment extends from the first core surface to a first side of the interior shell surface. The second support segment extends from the second core surface to a second side of the interior shell surface that is opposite the first side.
