The induction coil unit for heating up a component which is rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis (7), especially a tool holder (5), comprises a plurality of coils (19) arranged about the axis (7) of the tool holder (5), said coils having pole elements that are interconnected by a common yoke ring (17) and that are radially mobile with respect to the axis (7). Upon excitation by alternating current, the coils (19) produce a magnetic flux running in the tool holder (5) in the peripheral direction for inductively heating the tool holder (5). The induction coil unit (1) can be oscillated in the direction of the axis (7) by means of a drive (87), the pole elements (21) oscillating along the tool holder (5). The induction coil unit according to the invention is able to heat a comparatively large portion of the tool holder (5) despite comparatively little energy consumption and despite a comparatively compact design. |
