PURPOSE: A device and a method for diagnosing a camera for a vehicle using a self-diagnosis image pattern are provided to sense the malfunction of a camera by analyzing a self-diagnosis image pattern on a screen. CONSTITUTION: A device and a method for diagnosing a camera for a vehicle using a self-diagnosis image pattern comprise a camera, an image control unit and a display unit. The camera is mounted to a vehicle. The image control unit inputs to deliver the predetermined image code of self-diagnosis after receiving an image from the camera. The display unit displays an image signal in which image code of self-diagnosis inputted in order to enable a user to directly diagnose the camera.
