<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle that has high workability and safety and that can be reduced in size and weight. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner 1 for the vehicle includes: covers 3a, 3b, 4a, and 4b which are provided at an opening on an upper part of the air conditioner and are opened in a door manner with one of edges as a fulcrum; a fastening device 15 which is provided on an edge opposite to the edges of the covers 3a, 3b, 4a, and 4b; wire 13 which includes a first and second end and is engaged with the fastening device 15; and a hook 12 which is provided at the first end of the wire 13.
