DOUBLE NEEDLE SEWING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double needle sewing machine with an actuator at the outside of a needle bar turning base.

SOLUTION: A double needle sewing machine comprises: a needle bar turning base 15 supporting two needle bars; a needle bar rotating mechanism 30 for rotating the two needle bars; a latch mechanism 50 for holding two needle bars; an actuation member 16 for releasing the holding of the latch mechanism; an actuator 61 for changing the position of the actuation member; and a differential transmission mechanism 63 for transmitting the position change manipulation from the actuator to the actuation member. The differential transmission mechanism comprises: an input member 631 into which the actuator inputs a rotating action; and an output member 632 for adding the position change action to the actuation member by a rotating action; a transmission body 64 for transmitting the rotating action from the input member to the output member via a reverse action; and a rotation support 65 for supporting the transmission body so as to circulate around the rotation center line of the needle bar turning base. A driving motor 31 is disposed at a sewing machine frame as a driver of the needle bar rotating mechanism. When the motor inputs the rotating action into the needle bar turning base, a rotation angle added to the rotation support is half as much as a rotation angle of the needle bar turning base.
