<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road side wireless system capable of preventing wasteful power consumption for irradiating wireless radio waves and of obtaining power saving effect of a road side wireless device. <P>SOLUTION: A road side wireless system related to one embodiment comprises: a road side wireless device that is installed in a communication area preset on a road on which vehicles travel and, by performing communication among on-vehicle devices mounted to the vehicles traveling in the communication area by using wireless radio waves, provides the on-vehicle devices mounted to the vehicles with information containing traffic information at least related to the road; vehicle detecting devices that are installed upstream the communication area with respect to directions of travel of the vehicles of the road and detect whether or not traveling vehicles passing by installation positions and traveling toward the communication area exist; and controlling means for controlling irradiation of the wireless radio waves and stopping of the irradiation thereof in the road side wireless device in response to vehicle detection information obtained from the vehicle detecting devices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
