1,244,545. Laminated information card. OMRON TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO. 9 Dec., 1969 [25 Dec., 1968], No. 59908/69. Heading B5N. [Also in Division G4] An information card comprises a card base of thermoplastic material having a thickness sufficient to maintain the card in a rigid condition and a magnetic sheet consisting of a magnetizable layer in which card information is recorded and a support layer on one surface of which the magnetizable layer is formed, the support layer being made of the same thermoplastic material as the card base, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, the card base and magnetic sheet being laminated with the other surface of the support layer being in contact with one surface of the card base, and compressed while applying heat thereto, so that the material of the support layer and of the card base are fused together to form the card base and magnetic sheet into a card of unitary construction. The upper exposed surface of the magnetizable layer may be covered with a thin coating for protection against damage and the bottom surface of the card base opposite to the surface thereof to which the magnetic sheet is fused may be printed with letters and/or symbols expressing necessary information, e.g. identification number of the card, and covered with a thin transparent film, e.g. of polyvinyl chloride, applied to the card base simultaneously with the lamination thereof with the magnetic sheet. |
