PURPOSE: A device and a method for providing information different positions on a traveling route are provided to enable to search a better destination according to the determination of a user when a different point having an identical name or a point of an identical sort are adjacent to each other on a route to a desirable destination. CONSTITUTION: A device and a method for providing information different positions comprises a position search module(140), a route search module(130), an electronic map creation module(110), a different position search module(150), and a different position display module(160). The position search module searches a current position by using a GPS. The route search module searches a traveling route to a selected destination from the searched current position to the selected destination according to destination selection information input by an input member of a navigation device(100). The electronic map creation module displays the searched route on an electronic map according to the movement of the navigation device.
