Provided are an object detection device and information acquisition device able to appropriately acquire distance information even if the light receiving positions of dots deviates on an image sensor in the direction perpendicular to the direction of arrangement of a light reception optical system and a projection optical system. The information acquisition device (1) is provided with: a projection optical system (100); a light reception optical system (200); a memory (26) that holds a reference image and an actual measurement image; and a distance acquisition unit (21b) that acquires distance by means of setting segment regions in the reference image and comparing the dots in the segment region and the actual measurement image. The distance acquisition unit performs distance acquisition using a dot pattern such that the dots in the reference image and/or the actual measurement image are spread in one or both directions perpendicular to the direction of arrangement of the light reception optical system and the projection optical system. As a result, it is possible to appropriately acquire distance information even if the light reception position of dots has deviated in the perpendicular direction.
