ZYGOMA ANCHORED DISTRACTION OSTEOGENESIS DEVICE

An externally mounted distraction osteogenesis device used in plastic surgery for custom-made midface osteotomies for the correction of severe hypoplasia. The distraction device is composed of fixed and adjustable components; upper fixed component is attached to left and right zygomatic bone by bone screws; lower fixed component is composed of force transfer members engaging a rigid intraoral splint secured to teeth of the patient. A vertical bar, spindle units and distraction screws are adjustable connecting fixed components, applaying traction to facial bones.
