PURPOSE: A cleaning composition for a flat panel display substrate is provided to have an excellent particle removing force and organic material prevention for a glass substrate surface before forming an aligning film of a liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: A cleaning composition for a flat panel display substrate comprises 0.001-1 weight% of a polyhedral silsesquioxane which is indicated in chemical formula 1: (R1SiO1.5)n; 0.05-10 weight% of a basic compound indicated in chemical formula 2; 0.05-40 weight% of a water-soluble organic solvent; and 55-99.7 weight% of a deionized water based on the total weight of the composition. In chemical formula 1, n is an integer from 8-100, and each of R1 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkylene, allyl, arylene, or a derivative of alkyl, alkylene, aryl, and arylene which has a functional group.
