Lime stabilised zirconia of cubic structure is formed by heating an intimate mixture of monoclinic zirconia and chalk to a moderately high temp. The fritting is effected after addition of zirconium oxychloride to the raw mixture. High density refractory is formed with an excellent resistance to thermal shock. |
