<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of accurately detecting a state even if there is a phase shift between the position of a roller to be an observation object and the position of a sensor to be detection means to avoid wear of the roller and influence of paper thickness. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feeding device comprises: a paper feeding roller 42 for conveying paper such as transfer paper and documents; a separation roller 42b which abuts on the paper feeding roller 42 and normally and reversely rotates according to the size of load to separate one sheet from a plurality of sheets of paper; and a pickup roller 42a for feeding paper to the paper feeding roller 42. A pair of Hall sensors 110 for detecting the rotation states of the separation roller 42b are provided with a phase difference to stratify the rotation states of the separation roller 42b. As a result of the stratification, data in which the separation roller 42b rotates is extracted, operation time corresponding to an integral multiple of rotations of 1/2 rotation of a separation roller 52b is calculated from the extracted data by prescribed timing, the calculated rotation time data is compared with a reference value, it is detected that the rotation time data changes beyond a prescribed range and replacement of the separation roller 42b is urged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
