<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which: in an image forming apparatus that does not have an automatic double-sided print function for turning over a recording material, conveying the recording material to transfer means, and performing double-sided printing in the apparatus, there has not been a method for cleaning a pressure roller of fixing means that has sufficient cleaning performance and excellent usability. <P>SOLUTION: A toner image for cleaning formed on an image carrier is temporarily transferred onto transfer means in a cleaning mode of a pressure roller. The toner image for cleaning transferred onto the transfer means is transferred onto a surface of a recording material that contacts the pressure roller, and the recording material is then held and conveyed by a fixing nip part to remove stains on a pressure member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
