<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the thermal efficiency of a hydrogen rotary piston engine by reducing both cooling loss and exhaust loss. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen rotary piston engine includes: a rotor housing 3 having a trochoid inner circumferential surface 3a; a rotor 2 to be rotated with its vertices contacted with the trochoid inner circumferential surface 3a; a recess 2b formed on the outer circumferential surface 2a of the rotor 2; and a leading side ignition plug 21 disposed on the leading side with respect to a short axis Z of the trochoid curve of the trochoid inner circumferential surface 3a. When the rotor 2 is at the compression top, the recess 2b is disposed while biased to the leading side with respect to the short axis Z. A high pressure hydrogen injector 15 is provided for stratification of a hydrogen excessively dense air-fuel mixture R of less than 1 excess air ratio λ in the recess 2b. The leading side ignition plug 21 ignites and burns the stratified hydrogen excessively dense air-fuel mixture R in a combustion stroke. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
