<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear wheel steering device for vehicles, configured to steer a rear wheel to improve turning stability of a vehicle without increasing cost and weight. <P>SOLUTION: The rear wheel steering device 12 for vehicles that mounts a rear wheel 1 on a vehicle body by a torsion beam rear suspension 2 is configured to have a rack and pinion mechanism (power conversion mechanism) 13 for converting rotation of a propeller shaft 5 that transmits a drive force to the rear wheel 1 to reciprocating linear motion in a vehicle width direction of a rack 14. The reciprocating linear motion of the rack 14 converted by the rack and pinion mechanism 13 is transmitted to the rear suspension 2 via tie-rods 15 on both sides. The rear suspension 2 is moved to incline in both directions by use of elasticity of a body mounting spot to steer the rear wheel 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
